Can someone tell me how to send and receive faxes in your truck without using an e-mail service?

Thanks

I use a program called Extreme Fax. You need a scanner/printer and a connection to the internet.
They have several different packages depending on how many faxes you send recieve a month.
I get all my permits that way and fax in paperwork for early payment.

motorola cell phone, motorola phone tools 4, usb cable, laptop, scanner, printer. we use an HP all-in-one, short list

your cell can be used as a fax if you have the software to hook your phone to your laptop, (radio shack, ebay)

the software can be setup to see your phone as a modem, and you just set it up as a fax then when you want to send a fax just type it up and print to fax. or scan and print to fax

to to get a fax you need to know your are going to get it so you have your cell hooked to the laptop the software will do the rest.

just a side note most aircards won't work for this not sure about the USB aircards.

What I like about the program I use and the aircard is that I can leave it on line and go on down the road. A fax comes in and the program stores it right on the computer, don't have to stop someplace and fire up the printer to get it. And doesn't tie up cell phone.Like on this trip Iowa was slow getting my permit. Left it running and went on down the road, when a fax popped in just double clicked it could see it was what I needed and just kept going figuring if anyone wanted to see it would then print it off.

There isn't any difference between sending and receiving a fax with a program as opposed to an email, it's still electronic.

Not sure why you don't want to get an email, it works!!!

I think pigrider may be asking if there is a way to use your cell phone as a plain ol' phone line and hook it up to a fax machine- so you don't have to pay for internet service or use a computer.

If there is, I don't know about it. I've been a faithful air card and eFax user for several years now. I like eFax because I can store all my documents in my computer for future reference. And I don't have to print anything out to sign it- just attach my signature to a document in photoshop and send it off.

Yeah, well, anyone who has your signature can do it. I keep my signature on my computer- I don't pass it around- lol.

Since you brought it up, is there a way to fill out documents and sign them withgout printing them out, and scanning it back in?

I get my faxes in PDF format
