Today on I-90 through NY I ran into some problems. The transponder worked at the first couple toll booths and gave me the green light, but the last couple booths it said Call ezpass. Does that mean that I'm going to get charged a violation fee? I remember reading somewhere that CFI charges toll tickets back to the driver... Am I in trouble?

That sounds like a dumb policy for the company to charge you because somebody elses technology didn't work. At TMC it isn't our fault if the technology doesn't work. Now if we didn't have an EzPass and fined for using those ezpass lanes without one that will be our responsibility.

I get those yellow "call ezpass" messages all the time. Usually half of the time at the Maine tollbooths. Don't worry about it.

Most likely it means that CFI's account balance with EZPASS is at the min. that CFI has set. They(CFI) need to transfer some funds into the account. Your EZPASS still charged the account . If it would have turned red, then you would get a charge back.
This is what was explained to me by my company when I had the same problem with the one in my truck.

Hopefully you weren't speeding  I've heard of some malfunctions and people getting undeserved tickets.

I was behind a CFI truck all the way from Buffalo to past Rochester when I got off to go home. I came out of the toll booths on the east side of Buffalo about 16:30 local time and followed a CFI all the way to where I got off at exit 44 mile marker 347 at 17:40 local time. It's the exit at the bottom hill where it's 3 lanes for 4 miles and the service plaza is on the west bound side. Was that you ? 8) 8)

After coming across one of your other posts it looks like it wasn't you. Unless you and your truck can be in 2 places at once :D :D
