I'm brand new to this forum but I'm hoping you guys can help me. Heres the deal.
I started driving a truck in Jan 2006 for Swift. I had two "incidents" while with them. They were put on my dac. Then I drove for schneider til about 8 months ago. I had one accident with them, and had some jerk file a false claim against me..so sni put that as a preventable also. So cause of that bs I have 4 incidents/accidents in less than 3 years.
My question to you, is there any otr company that will even touch me? I've tried several and the maximum seems to be 3 in 3 years. Thanks in advance guys |

Opinion: No.
Sorry, as you will hear it isn't going to just be the companies you are going to have problems with but the insurance that they use.
Like any driver, insurance companies look at the driving record but as a Commercial/ Professional driver, Your record is basicly you. Think of it as a calculated risk, and right now your history is too big a risk.
may need to try something else. |

With a major carrier, your chances are pretty much dead. With a smaller carrier that doesn't use DAC - maybe but slim.
If that fourth one is indeed a 'false' report you can file a protest with the DAC people about it. Get a copy of your DAC and follow the instructions on how to protest it. Be prepared though to have evidence to support your claim that it is false. |

I agree....What kind of incidents are these?? Apparently bad enough to be reportable..
Try a local mom & pop company that wont check DAC (and dont ask if they do!!).
Or maybe try a construction company that runs tri-axles or rigs pulling lowboys or something. Alot of times, they have a different kind of insurance than OTR trucking companies do and seem to be a little more lenient.
Good luck, but for christs sakes, be careful. You dont wanna hurt yourself anymore than you've already done or somebody else. Then your really screwed when bodies are involved. |
