I just saved 278.00 a month on my insurance. Actually I have saved around 320.00. First I lowered my liability and my radius since I travel about 150 miles from home. This brought my Insurance thru progressive to 322.00 per month . The best part was that I got to waive my Cargo ins which saved the 278.00 per month I mentioned. After talking with Ed about ins I was informed that Copart does not require cargo ins if you carry on hook ins which I do thru progressive. The FMCSA requires to have your authority you must have Cargo so I was carrying $100.000 . Last week I called FMCSA and was told I could waive my cargo , all I need to do was fill out a one page fax that they sent to me saying that I did not need cargo and they waived it. Finally to top all that I had a gentleman come up to me today after unloading my cars who asked me to start hauling cars he purchases at Copart to his place in Lewisburg KY. He will pay 90.00 percar for a 4 car load and 100.00 for three or less and I will only haul to him on the days when I to pick up cars for Copart near Lewisburg . Lewisburg is around 82 miles from Lebanon TN if you take a couple of short cuts.

Orange, for the most part , I am happy. I will say that some of the warnings from others were and are proving to be accurate. They do make a lot of promises that seem to never pan out. They promise fsc
increases that take longer than they should. I am suppose to get one this week. The folks at the Lebanon facility are really good to me and they seem to be pleased with me. As you well know, there are days when I wondered why I ever got into this but then I get a few good loads and I am as happy as mouse in a cheese factory. It is a tough nasty job. I look
like a vagabond by the end of the day . The pay could and should be better but I have learned how to make it work. At first I just accepted every load without question , now I ask if they can find anything better
( cars closer together ) and most of the time thay can come up with something. All in all I look foward to most days and enjoy this job. I could be sitting behind a desk ( was offered a good job) but I will keep this up as long as I can .

SO , I suppose in your opinion anything less than a class 8 is not worthy. Gee that is funny , Dot sure holds me to the same standards as
any other truck, So does FMSCA, IFTA , ect.......

BTW, for your info my truck is a class 7 33,000 Gvw ,Class 8 starts at 33,001 , a whole pound difference .

Did you switch to Geico???

Thats just smart business, it often takes a year of driving to find out how much you can shave off the policy. I'm up for renewal, so I'm trying the same thing.

Thanks Doghouse . I kept thinking all along that I was over insured , atleast where Copart is concerned . BTW, I did get the rate increase, it showed up on my check today. Also I got to haul 1 car to the guy I mentioned. He paid me cash on the spot. He said he would definately be looking to buying more now that he has a hauler. Normally I would rather haul three or more but since I had to come by his place today anyway I went ahead and took the load. You know , I learned from 22 years in the finance business that when things are tough , you can always look for ways to cut expenses. Me getting a better ins rate and getting
some back hauls certainly help cut my cost and will increase my profit s.
