Hey drivers,
Does anybody know who else offers 7 or 14 day on/7 day off, or 7/4-7/3 or some other types of flex driving schedules besides Roehl, Transport America and Schneider??

| Keep in mind. A driving schedule you are asking about will require "slip seating" the truck with at least 1 or 2 other drivers.(especially more than 3days in a row) |

ridge runner - nothing really wrong with roehl, transport america or schneider as far as i know - just want to check as many options as possible
drew - thanks for the heads up - i know i would be slip seating - usually not the first choice for drivers but pretty much the only option for 7 on 7 off and other flex schedules
i slip seated for awhile years ago switching shifts in a day cab and didn't have any real trouble - the other drivers were mostly cool - and if somebody did happen to leave the tractor trashed or running on fumes you could usually shame them into getting their act together

CRST has something along the lines of 20/10, but I know of no others.
Only thing is with those flex schedules is that you are a part time driver. You won't make a whole lot of money. |

The schedule at knight differs from term to term. They have several that I know of......4 on 4 off....7 on 7 off.....5 on2 off (dedicated I think) and 7-10 out with 2 days off.
I was on the 7/2 but never got home in 7, or got the miles. now I have worked with my D/M and on 14 out 3 home. I am now getting miles and smiles.
Hope this helps! |

| I worked 4 on 4 off for Knight for a few months. they did me real well with miles 2000-2200 miles every time out. it seems like they treated me like a team, very little local work and little time wasted on docks. I could no longer slip seat though and had to get back in my OWN truck. some people live like animals and it's pretty disgusting the way some people keep their trucks. pretty good overall at Knight. |

| Roehl does not have 7/7 or 7/4-7/3 in all areas. Need to check if it is in your home area. Need to be within "x" number of miles from a terminal or drop yard in most cases. Check out their web site for the maps. |

Slip seating is really a pain. The further you live from where you exchange the truck, the bigger the pain. I tried Roehl's 7-3/4, if wasn't fro the slip seating I would still be doing it. But in the end, dragging my stuff in and out of the truck every week was more than I could stand. Also consider what type of people you will be sharing a bed with. My other "slip seaters" were a bunch of pigs. You will notice a new ding or dent on the truck every week. The final straw was a razor blade and white powder on the slide out table.

| WFX (Western Flyer Xpress) in Oklahoma City. Almost all drop and hook, and IF you have to live load it doesn't take long with the accounts they have. They have a program that is 7 on and 7 off. I'm not sure if you have to live close to the city here or not. They have lanes from Ca to N.C. , Ohio to L.A. , Mich to Tx, Tx to Ca, Ok to wherever. I worked for them for a couple of years part time and loved it. Just didn't want to go full time and be gone. Long nose Pete's, Classic Freightliners, Columbia's, 386 Pete's, 387 Pete's, and some Coronodo's. Your speed is goverened to what you make per mile, don't quote me but something like 75mph is .30cpm, 72mph is .32cpm, 70mph is .34cpm and so on down to 68mph I think. It was instituted after I left so I'm not sure. TONS of miles too. They always left me alone. I got my loads and went. Their just like anybody else. They just want you to run when your running. They always treated me good. Any questions just let me know, @ thetayrien3@cox.net My name is Bob |
