|
|
Hey drivers -
Does anybody know some good companies that run solo dry vans west from Ohio and the midwest?
I wanto to run mostly Wisconsin west to MN, Dakotas, Montana, Idaho and Washington/Oregon or out to CO, UT, NV, NM, AZ etc.
Seems like most companies that run west from OH/MI/IN/IL area run all 48 states (which means regular runs into the east coast hurry-up-and-wait-for-backhaul vortex) or only get you home every 3-4 weeks if you live someplace like Ohio.
Other companies that run west only hire and run in the west.
I've already done midwest regional and linehaul, not to mention the "you need to be there by yesterday" reefer produce and meat gigs from CA and KS etc. back to the midwest - plenty of wide-open western scenery but always "super trucker dispatched," always late (even if you're not), always tired and always only semi legal at best.
From what I hear about tanker yankers - they are at least as bad as reefers in the "get there yesterday" department.
I'm still looking for some steady but just slightly more laid back 7-14 day runs from the midwest out west in dry vans. By laid-back I mean 500-600 miles a day instead of 800.
Is it still possible to have just a little breathing room to actually enjoy trucking?
Maybe my dream trucking job doesn't exist.
But does anybody have any suggestions??
Any help would be most appreciated, 10-4.
Hoo-rah! |

You might want to check out Air-Ride - they're based out of Swanton.
Of course, I always figure almost anything's worth at least a phone call. The only thing you might lose is a little time. |

Seems like Roehl goes where you want. I also think they have some local operations at toledo - maybe lowes dedicated/local/regional.
