|
|
I got 3 trailers, and all are the same. Brakes, hubs fine, but here is the question, when using one trailer 95% of the time when I apply the brakes I get a terrible scrubbing sound and it seems to be coming from my tractor front brakes?????
It does not doe this with any other trailer, just one? Any suggestions.
Thanks |

Check the trailer shocks, beam pivot bushings, etc, and verify correct air ride height. |

| Trailer is Spring Ride, no shocks, all suspension parts were replaced 3 months ago, and had trailer lined up then? Maybe a bad brake chameber, what do you think? |

Got more info on the scrubbing sound. Had someone walk along the trailer when it is doing this and the sound is coming only from one wheel on the trailer, Right Back.
It has been doing this for several months now, any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. |

hmmm, now it has become an entirely different problem... shoulda posted this after the basics were done : (
... if your dust shield is not scraping on the drum, then you will probably have to pull the drum... jack the wheel end up and spin it by hand; that should help narrow it down. How much lining is remaining on that right rear brake shoes? Is it full of sand? |

Thanks Bob, I will get this checked out and let you know. The person that walked along the trailer when it was doing this said that it looked like the entire wheel was vibrating when I applied the brake.
I was already planning on changing the shoes and drums as it is getting close to needing them anyway.
I appreciate your help in this matter. |
