Daje35,

Don't get lost, making a u in a truck can be a real pain.

Are you OTR? Get your sleep! nothing worse then a tired newbie behind the wheel.(my family thanks you)

Don't talk on your cell while driving, whoever it is can wait,

Not sure if your used to sitting on you rear for as long as you will be,
Get a Butt pillow.

Don't lose your wallet, fuel card, cell phone, etc. Getting them back or even finding them... well good luck with that.

These are all general tips, from a truckers wife.
You should learn how to drive from your school and trainer.
If you don't feel like either is doing that for you, ask someone else for help, even if it is a friend from school. Becareful who you ask for help, but do ask....

Safe driving
TW

Glad to hear that,

Truth be told I have more tips for your wife than you.

But when hubby was OTR and I wanted to reach him but unsure the time zone or schedule he was on. I would send a text message, If he responded he could talk or was awake, if not then he would call when it was safe.

I would also recomment a blue tooth head set one that cuts know on the road noise and is over the head. They sell them at truckstops. and an unlimited calling, text, and picture phone plan. Thats pretty much how you will see your family the most. Laptop and internet would be nice, but if money is and issue, get a GPS instead.

Tips...Use your mirrors alot. They are large and provide you with vital info for safe vehicle operation and "space management".

Be wary of people while on the road, mo$t want $omething from you.

Know what you are to pe paid. Drivers seem to get shorted and if you don't speak up the company keeps the $$.

Do your PTIs and keep the 5th wheel greased... :D

...You will see lots of stuff out there, take a camera.
