| You can also do a search here on the forums for "CoPilot" if you're interested in a laptop (software) based GPS system. |

| Garmin Nuvi series 350 and up have truck routes. But still verify route against map as they are not perfect and deteriorate rapidly if you get off route. To the point of telling you to do a u turn on a one way street. |

JImbo, my garmin c340 (older model) has the option to select "Truck" for the type of vehicle also, but I quickly learned that it doesnt mean the kind of truck that has 18 wheels! WHich is kind of stupid why they even put it on there in the first place. Might as well pick motorcycle :x
Does the Nuvi series you speak of specificly mean 18-wheeler??
If so, I MAY upgrade... |

Really? It has a truck icon? Guess I must have got a defected one since mine does not have that icon. I know that you can download the icon off the internet.
JIMBPARD,
I use the 350 to find all my stops and have yet to run into a real problem. It does however get confused at times and will tell you that a location is on the left when it is really on the right(like this morning). Other then that, the truck option does keep you on truck routes unless you customer is off of one, then it will run you however it can to get you there. |

| It is odd that no one mentioned Co-Pilot, it is relatively expensive, around $400 for the newest version but uses pc miler which is the same system that a lot of the big companies use to route their trucks. It runs on your laptop and does truck route, hazmat route, 53'ft routes, fuel stops, truckstops, cat scales, etc etc. I have used it for nearly 4 years with only a few times where it was "wrong". |
