Ok... ya ready... :?
I just bought my first trk through my employer and found some software (Quickbooks Pro 2008 and Payroll) that I thought and was told would be very essental to my needs. Come to find out after spending almost 400 dollars, it is not partnership friendly what so ever.
So I am in very much need of a software that will help me out, here is a bit of info of how things roll with my company "and much of that still confuses me on how to fill out taxes or report or not report"
But the (employer) pays certain things for us, but it still comes out of our (truck) gross pay, then we are given the net and thats where we have to pay our Income, Soc. Sec. Taxes, Federal Highway Use Tax, out of pocket expense, etc...
So I'm needing a software that will help me though this (friendly software) with it being a partnership, NOT employee payroll.
Can you please help, running out of hair here.
Thank You! |

| I know of some who run their trucking business with Quickbooks Pro. I am not sure why it would not work regardless of the type of business structure. There are a number of software packages specifically designed for the trucking industry. Trucknpro (www.foglinesoftware.com) is a good program and should do almost everything you need other than the fuel taxes and payroll. Easy Trucking (www.easytrucking.com) is a package that will do everything but payroll. If you want the payroll and fuel tax features Truckers Helper (www.truckershelper.com) may be an option for you. You can get as little or much as you want with this software. It should have everything you need to run a small to mid-sized trucking company. There are several other software packages available. My suggestion is to check to see whether they have an online demo and try them out. The only one that has payroll that I mentioned above is Truckers Helper. If you do a search on the forum you should find other software listed. It has come up before. Good luck. |
