If you're talking about the Crete thread, it was locked yesterday either by Lee or by Scoe, I would imagine. As far as the reasons why, it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure it out. It was getting pretty nasty all around and resulted in at least one banning. Let's keep it at that. Evertrucker can get another thread rolling...hopefully everyone remaining will keep it at least semi-civil.

I'm just wondering "why" couldn't the last page or so- be completely deleted and just move on from there....

Because each post has to be individually edited or deleted, as well as any quotes that were pulled from edited posts. Having to clean up threads that are that far gone is a very time consuming process.

Uh Jimbp, Moderator Lee sent out a board wide PM about the TOS to remind everyone. Freedom of Speech was the last little thing on there, go check it hoss, doesn't apply here because this is a private board and you must abide by that when you join that they are not bound by Freedom of Speech.

You're certainly welcome to mosey on down the road. I can point you to truck.net, TTAT, the knitting club, drivers report, layover, you name it.

But if you'd like to remain, you might review the rules:

http://www.classadrivers.com/phpBB2/rules.php

In particular, you might review this little gem:

Quote: Finally, we want to explicitly call out that the concept of Freedom Of Speech does not apply on this forum. Because this forum is owned and operated by ClassADrivers and because we ask you to sign up and agree to these terms and conditions, we reserve the right to moderate any and all threads, private messages, emoticons, etc that we believe are not in the spirit of this community and in accordance with the guidelines spelled out above.

Thanks and have a wonderful day.

Always fun trying to beat someone else to a post. :)

But that's the gist of it. While freedom of speech does not apply to a private messageboard, we do try to allow the members a little bit of leeway in creative posting. However, when things get as out of hand as they did on that Crete thread, we have to take action. That thread was way gone.

Guess I and We can learn a lesson here-- don't "overfeed" a Troll-- when they go "critical" and explode-- the mess can't be cleaned up-- Java script must be easier than this phpBB or what-ever it is.
