| Mine was already spent long ago. I'll be taking mine and paying down one of my credit cards with it. I thought about blowing it on something but I think I'll do the right thing. 8) 8) |

That is all a bunch of bull crap. Stop buying into all of the idiotic forwarded messages you get in you email. But the premise of your post is correct. The only way that the economy will be stimulated is if thosethat receive those payments blow it at the mall. There was a poll taken last week that asked what people will do with their "stimulus" payments.
Only 19% said they would blow their money. The rest said they will either invest it or pay down debt.
This "economic stimulus" is a freakin joke. |

No, you paid that much extra in and they feel guilty
90% of all polls can be twisted 50% of the time to make 73% of the people believe them.

No such thing as free money. It is money our descendants will be paying for in one way or another.
If any of us would spend money like the government does (state and federal) we would be rotting in jail for a very, very long time. |

I wish I could afford EUR.
Anyway...I'm proud to tip with Canadian money now.
Makes me feel like a big shot.

Actually the joke is on all of us. This is no "stimulus". Were gonna have to pay the money back come next tax season, just like last time bush gave us a "stimulus".
Just look at it as a cash advance from next tax season.
I will be using the money for bills but I would much rather the government keep it. I can still pay my bills without it. I won't be going out and buying things I don't need or spending more at the mall or wal mart. I would also rather have the $600 next year, or if I happen to owe money to not have to owe an extra $600.
It's a sham, and I'm surprised so many people buy into it. What most also fail to relies is that this will cost the government (our tax dollars) $42 million to mail out all those tax rebate checks. It's a damn joke, just like bush. |

100% of welfare recipients dont need it. If they can walk to the mail box to pick up a check then take it to the bank and cash it or the liquer store or wherever, then they can walk there lazy asses to a job and hand out fries for 8 hours. |

Quote: 100% of welfare recipients dont need it.
There are plenty of people who work who still get welfare because their wages still do not get them out of poverty. There are also many who are truly disabled and unable to work who, on top of SSI disability, get "welfare".
And yes, there are plenty of people too who simply milk the system for all its worth and then some. |

Agreed. However, being below poverty level doesnt mean they need welfare. If they are getting welfare and have jobs and or disability then they don't need it IMO. It is hard to live on minimum wage and survive but it is possible. That doesn't mean you or I should be supplimenting their income because they are too lazy to get an education or get vocational training of some sort to better their situation. They are a burdon on our system, among other things. |
