As some of you may have already read, I just recently got hired by Shelton, but I received a copy of my dac report today and the only thing on there was a speeding ticket for 80 in a 65 in NC from...........you ready? Get this...........09/22/1989 !!!! lol
If my math is correct, that's almost 19 years ago!
Should this be on there this long ?

Part of it may well depend on how long your home state keeps records on your MVR.

And just because a minor citation (ie 5 mph over) may drop off in a few years does not mean more serious ones, like 15 over, will drop off in the same amount of time.

I understand that, but 19 years? Heck, 19 years ago you just paid the ticket in whatever state you recieved it and it stayed off your driving record. We're talking old school here. I had a New York state drivers license back then and this particular ticket never showed up on my mvr.
I'm not complaining, I'm just amazed that it's even on my dac report. even after all this time.

The DAC and the MVR are two totally different reports. While USIS (DAC) keeps work information on line for 10 years, they simply order MVR's from any state that you've had a CDL or DL from in the past. And in that case, it just depends on the states. Some states are forever states and keep things on file permanently. I've seen stuff from back in the 70's on MS and MO MVRs.

Just a question, I was under the impression that if you had a CDL nothing ever left your record. And that's even if you were ticketed in your POV. Is that incorrect?? Thanks

No, it's a state-by-state thing. Some drop after 3, some 5, 7, 10, or they stay on there forever. There is no difference in whether someone has a standard driver's license or a CDL.

interesting, that is just amazing that some states can keep things on your record that happen as long as 30 years ago. just a shame that some states want to give some drivers a hard time, some people are not perfect and these states want you to be perfect? what a crock!!
