Any one have any problems living in Florida and trying to get a CDL driver job here.
It seems that most companies dont want to bother w/ recruiting drivers form here for some reason.
Anyone got any opinions?Post away if you do.

I don't live in Florida, but I worked a lot out there for Armellini Express Lines based in in Palm City. They also have terminals in Miami and Pierson. I worked OTR, regional and local out of their Oxnard, California terminal. They haul fresh cut flowers and backhaul freight. You'll need a haz mat endoresement. Some experience is good, but they hire newbies too, if you are one. I liked it a lot, but I found a local job here about 2 and 1/2 years ago.

A lot of carriers find it difficult to get decent paying freight out of Florida so they try to keep their trucks out of the state. Not being able to guarantee home time to a Florida resident they are reluctant to hire drivers from the state since they will likely not stay long if they don't get home on a regular basis.

I did live in Florida, but recently moved to Texas because of the wider variety of Cdl jobs here, I didnt have much luck on getting a driving job in Florida other than local jobs, which didnt want to pay you enough.I do know that Central Ref.Services and US Express do hire in Florida at least where I was in the panhandle.

Florida is nick named "God's waiting room". I've found that many truck drivers retire to Florida and if they own a truck they run it into the ground before giving it up. Those that don't own a truck drive for someone else so there is no lack of new drivers arriving daily.

Where else can you work part time and make 10 times more than the person next to you bagging groceries at Piggly Wiggly.
