hi all,

im looking into being a driver for a food service company.
looking for advice from food service drivers.

i have no limitations or handycaps, ive done flatbed where i have had to unload cabinets and stairs for new homes by myself. this was hard work. but i didnt mind doing it and very long hours.

basically, i know the first month will be tough, until my body gets used to it.

do you food service drivers find it hard as hell after 1 year of doing it?do you find it a rewarding job, and would you recommend to someone for a long term job?

i like the idea of getting paid by the hour. and overtime after 40 and dont mind working hard.

i need your input

thanks

That will help but Foodservice is a WHOLE different ballgame.

Try the first three months

Nope, it only gets easier(especially when you figure out how to work smarter, not harder :D )

Yes and Yes. After five years, I see no plans of stopping(unless I move into an office postion or my body gives out)

:D
And now for the UGLY:
Foodservice is hard work and yes it can be fun and rewarding. Just keep in mind that after awhile your body will take a beating. If the company offers advancement into an office postion or dock/line-haul postion, work towards it. Drivers don't at long in this niche of the industry(hard work, long hours, tight delivery areas, bad neighborhoods, etc). I've been doing five years and enjoy it(but then again I'm nuts).
BOL and hopefully it works out for you.
