I joined this board a couple years ago after getting my CDL. I was worried that I would not get a job because I had 4 old DUII's in my lifetime. Even though they were all 10+ years old they would still come up on a background report and for sure on a DAC report. For sure I got flammed on this site for even thinking about driving. I am not one to back down and listen to the critics so I hunted work down. I will say that the bigger companies will probably not hire you right away. I did not however find it hard to get to work. I had so many offers I could work a different job every week if I wanted. I actually did work for about 6 companies in the past two years. Be sure you know what you want in a job before accepting one. That was one of my mistakes. I needed a schedule that would allow me to be home nights and they are hard to find. You usually leave with your truck at like 1-4 am so it is not the best schedule if you have a family. I did some regional work as well as local. Hauled reefer, double tankers, flatbed and dryvan. Also moved heavy equipment. So, if you have prior DUII's don't worry, you will get a job. Ok flame away you guys that have nothing better to do but keep the working man discouraged. By the way, still haven't drank and don't plan to. So there!

Not sure about the whole point of this post, perhaps to taunt others or what. |

| Congrats on pulling it all together. I think that his point is that not all is lost if the "coolies" won't hire you. Right? Maybe? And possibly to show a ray of light to some of those who may feel that they are in an impossible position. There is hope! Good Job! |

So which is a bigger issue when trying to find a job? 4 Dui's or 6 jobs in 24 months? |

I'm still hanging around. I went back to working for my Dad in the car business. I'm not posting as much but I still come back and read through the threads everyday seeing what everyone else is up to. |
