| I need your opinion on something I got a 89 Ford F150 with almost 35,000 miles on it not sure if it's original or not, I'll be running it more than 40 miles a day when I start my job this summer putting 200+ miles on it in a week. I'm debating if I should keep it and put some money into it or should I sell it and get me something newer. I looked at the KBB and it's worth only $865 for trade in. I should of got a Chevy or GMC but I got a good deal on the Ford and really needed it at that time. It's a 5spd and the clutch was just replaced and I plan on replacing the oil pan gasket Saturday. Opinions will be appreciate even smart ass comments! |

KEEP IT!
Almost any repair made to the truck will be cheaper than a new truck payment. And I am in the same boat as you, my old pick up is worth more to me than anyone else. |

| I guess it would be cheaper to add a new air intake, cherry bomb exhaust, and all that stuff to improve performance and horsepower than a truck payment. lol It does have the 4.9L Straight 6 in it and I hear those are the most reliable engines Ford has ever made. |

I have heard the same thing. If you get cherry bombs be prepared for me to yell obscenities at you if you drive in front of my house  |

| Glad I don't live in Maryland. But right now the fuel milage sucks on it and it's costing me an arm and leg so I'm glad the Pete dealer called me so I got 2 1/2 months of being a kid left but ya know I'll be working on the trucks and driving the trucks so I can't complain! 8) Thanks MDKW |

I don't feel like finding out why my regular horn isn't working yeah I can be lazy who isn't? lol |

Young man.... you do not have any credit at your age, so you will need a co-signer with excellent credit to obtain financing...... Sigh...... |

I have done things with this truck that make most people crinj but it just keeps goin. I change the oil every once in a while and put air in the tires. I would take it to California and back if someone would buy me some tires! :) Keep it! you wont be sorry if you do. By the way, I get 13 mpg. |

| Not a bad ride Dave, alright I'll keep it, I'm sure once I get done what I want done the gas milage will improve on it. I had to clean up the wiring cause it was a mess and I only had it since January, I got it cause I needed something at the moment cause mom's car was in the shop so it was either buy that or walk everywhere. Was it a bad deal no because my cousin had it but I do know the clutch has been replaced cause I replaced it myself when it went out on me, I know the fuel stuff is new but not sure about the engine though. The only way I'm getting rid of my truck is when I get my 79 El Camino! |

I have an 86 Automatic F-150 302, gets 12mpg.. Only worries is make sure your fuel valve is working, if you have 2 tanks.. There are 3 fuel pumps, 1 in each tank there low pressure, and 1 high pressure under your driver door... My model has a fuel filter in the fuel valve wich works off of pressure..
Other than that Love it.. Tough Pickups. |
