was once asked by a lady visiting if I had a gun in the house. To which I said I did. She said, "Well I certainly hope it isn't loaded!" To which I said, "Of course it's loaded, can't work without bullets...." She then asked, "Are you that afraid of someone evil coming into your house?" My reply was, "No not at all. I am not afraid of the house catching afire either, but I have fire extinguishers around, and THEY ARE ALL LOADED."
Parting note: An unloaded gun is just a club.

Good Rules To remember:

1. Don't pick a fight with an old man. If he is too old to fight, he'll likely just kill you.

2. If you find yourself in a fair fight, your tactics suck.

3. I carry a gun cause a cop is too heavy.

4. When seconds count, the cops are just minutes away.

5. A reporter did a human interest piece on the Texas Rangers. The reporter recognized the Colt 1911 the Ranger was carrying and asked him, "Why do carry a 45?" The Ranger responded with, "Because they don't make a .46."

6. An armed man will kill an unarmed man with monotonous regularity.

7. The old sheriff w as attending an awards dinner when a lady commented on his wearing his sidearm. "Sheriff, I see you have your pistol. Are you expecting trouble?" "NO Ma'am. If I were expecting trouble, I would have brought a shotgun."

8. Beware the man who only has one gun. HE PROBABLY KNOWS HOW TO USE IT!!!

Hehehe!

I really only need 1, but I have my Dad's old Colt and my Glock. Both kept loaded and where I can get to them. On Sundays I go to the Police Range to practice.

Proud NRA member since I was 12.

I don't really like guns,

just so happens I am just good at hitting my target.

Then again I don't really like fishing either, I am naturally good.

The fish I catch must be suicidal, or have mental problems

We call it Angler Management. :P Fishing is actually very relaxing for me.

Shooting just leaves my ears ringing.

Oh, shooting can be very relaxing too! And you don't have to handle slimy fishes to do it.

I always sleep with two .45 hand guns (Kimber 1911 and a Glock). Not because I am constantly paranoid and afraid or even have much reason to be afraid that some bad dude is going to break into my place and kill me. What keeps me doing it is knowing, that all it takes is for that to happen ONE TIME. Just ONE TIME, and I could be dead forever. I owe it to my family to consider the chance that I could be killed, and be prepared to save my life.

I have a license to carry a gun on my person as well. For the same reason. Not because I have ever been attacked, or because I am constantly living in fear that I could be. But simply knowing that all it takes is one time, in all my years of life for some jerk to stab or shoot me, or beat me to death and I would be gone. I don't feel that it is fair to my family just to hope that never happens and not be prepared to save myself in case it ever does. I carry a gun for the ever so slight, but everpresent possibility that it could be the only thing that could save my life in a given situation.

A lot of people say "Well there are other ways to defend yourself" and they are absolutely right which is exactly why the gun is the last option. But when all other options are exhausted, and your attacker is coming down on you, it will be very nice to know you happen to have on you, something that could very well save your life. It might not, you might shoot the attacker and he still might succeed in killing you. But wouldn't you rather have the option in hopes that it would save your life? Much like safety features in cars. Air bags for example. Lots of people hate air bags, and fear them because they have killed kids that were sitting in the front seat. That is terribly tragic. However, I am willing to bet, that if you ever got into a car accident and your air bag saved your life, you would sure be glad you had it. Just like guns, sometimes fall into the wrong hands and kids are killed by them. That is tragic, but if you ever found yourself in a situation where an attacker was about to kill your kids I can guarantee you, you would be thankful you had that gun on you and could kill the bastard before he does any harm.

Remember, IT IS FAR BETTER TO HAVE A GUN AND NOT NEED IT, THAN TO REALLY NEED IT AND NOT HAVE IT!

A small town on the eastern side of the state called Quincy. Got one of the Sierra Pacific Industries mills here in town and I've been hauling logs into it for the past 9 years.

That is my motto right there. I have a piss'em off .22 and then the all business Sears Roebuck 12 gauge. Shoot first, ask questions later when someone is in your house unannounced. Asking questions first will get you killed. :D

I have an 1858 HARPERS FERRY. Fired it once and spent the next four hours cleaning it. .62 cal.

Single shot 12-guage... No idea the make.

two bunt-lines with 18" barrels that I bought at a yard sale in NM. Complete with belt and holsters. Paid $350, been offered $70,000. .44 cal. (rim-fire ammo no longer available)

Remington model 10A, bottom load and eject... (Dad shot left-handed)

A couple of other more modern ones, nothing fancy.

None are kept loaded. I've had no need of a loaded gun, other than hunting and target practice, for forty years. Navy training has seen to that. It's just as close to the surface today as it was during Viet Nam. It also means I don't dare get into a fight.

But for things like target practice, the Desert Eagle would have to be my favorite.

I have the untra carry 2 as well! Yes it is a very very nice gun. I am amazed at how well it shoots too. That's funny that you happen to have the same one. Not a whole lot of them around it seems. My cousins been trying to find one because he really likes mine. Don't think he's looked all that many places though.
I got the night sights on my Glock 30 and yes they are very nice to have. I was always under the impression that they were just made out of glow in the dark material that after being in the dark for a while would lose its glow. So I always thought it was kind of pointless to rely on them to still be glowing hours after it got dark. Did not realize they were actually made of radioactive material that glows for years and years until I decided to study up on them last year. Pretty awesome stuff! Always wondered what the big hype over night sights was. Ha ha, now I know!

I've also got a Ruger GP100 357mag.

And, did you folks know...

There is one weapon that is used more often than POISON, KNIVES, and GUNS all put together?

It's true. Add up all the people that are killed each year with guns, knives, and poisons, and you still do not equal the number of people that are killed each year with one other weapon. Know what that weapon is?

The HUMAN HAND...

Now... Disarm America...
