Gotcha.
Savannah to Decatur: 476 miles
Decatur to Huntsville: 26 miles
Huntsville to Beaufort: 469 miles
Beaufort to Savannah: 41 miles
____________________________
Total: 1012 miles
$900 + $778 = $1678 - 10% = $1510.20 - 6% factoring = $1419.59
$1419.59 X 2 = $2839.18
1012 miles X 2 = 2024 miles
2024 miles for $2839.18 = $1.40 per mile = cheap freight. |

| Correct me, if I'm wrong, but it about $1.34 a mile, to the truck(after 16% deduction. If it's for all miles including DH and home, it's just enough to survive... |

| i think it could be better. and it will. but im only gone two nites a week. lots of home time. and i think landstar could pay better on my back haul, thats the one that lowers my avg.but it pays better than anything elese iv found, and gets me right back to the house. |

| Do you really have to factor it? It will cost you about $200 a week. |

That argument might hold water if I were planning to run it twice a week as a dedicated run.
Besides, if you didn't want criticism, you shouldn't have asked about it on an internet message board. |

Haven't you heard? Once you don't have a truck payment, you never have to worry about it again. |

I think that is his point of putting it as his worst load. he did it for fuel and i'm sure he doesn't do it every week as his source of income. you come on here asking for peoples opinions of something and then get upset because they don't agree with you? if you want to make no money and be home more often your in the wrong line of work. if you want feel all warm and fuzzy about an unsound business judgment ask for someones opinion that doesn't know what they are talking about. or here: its a freaking great gig go for it!!! |

Could someone please explain factoring? Is that some kind of assurance that the shipper/broker will pay for the load?
Thanks |
