| I can't seem to find those yellow strips of plastic that you attach to your outside trailer tires that turn with the wheels to indicate they are turning so you don't drag a frozen wheel and flat spot your tires. Anyone know what they are called or a place I can purchase them online. |

| I ran into that problem in Provo, put a nice flat spot on my left rear duals. I went to autozone and bought a tire crayon,...then put 4 marks on all my outside trailer tires,..then make a slight left/right turn in the morning to make sure they are turning, I also don't set my trailer brakes if I've been in wet/slushy conditions (just make sure you are close to level, and not on a hard incline). |

| The problem is we unhook and hook different trailers and the brakes sometimes freeze and the drivers fail to notice. I have seen companys paint white lines on the tires, but it's still kind of hard to see at night. Thats why these strips work well you can see them by just looking in your mirrors. |

I see, thats way diff. than my situation,..my trailer never comes off.
I remember showing a guy a photo of a snowblower,......and he thought is was a wood chipper. |

| just a note .. if you dont drop. you should try a slick disk for your 5th wheel. you never have to grease it. cost $22.00 at truckpro or other truck stores. last for couple years. at least. ive been using one for years. much better than greasing. no dropping, no greasing.. |

| Exactly what I'm doing when I get back to Florida. I also have to replace the jaws on the fifth as well. I put it on the last setting yesterday and still have 3/16 of clearance. (It started at 1/2 of clearance). |

| The teflon pads are nice when you stay hooked to the same trailer. At the risk of stating the obvious, make sure you keep the king pin greased! If you don't you can cause severe damage to the king pin and the fifth wheel locking mechanism/jaw. |

| You can get small tubes of water based paint that glows at night and can be charged with a flash light. It is available in clear so you don't see it when it's not activated. Probably a few small dash marks would work. The paint may cost you $10 for a small tube, but you won't need much. I've seen it advertised on line. |

a cheap way is go to home base get 4 sticks, ( the ones you use to mix paint with) 1 can dayglow paint (red or green) and 3m reflective tape (like what you have on the side of your trailer) 8 magnets and a little glue.
glue 2 magnets (1 at the base end and one about 3" up
paint it all dayglow just not the last 2"
put the 3m tape on the last 2 inch of the stick
put them in your side box,
the next time you need to check just stick 1 on each rim or the hub thay will only stick out about 5" but when you try to move you CAN see them and at nite just kick on the 4ways (reflective tape) you only need to move a few feet to check them then just put them back in the sidebox |
