It's like any other vehicle. The main thing is how well maintained it was by previous owners and whether or not they beat on it like a rented mule every day. Detroits are pretty reliable engines and we have several in our fleet that are at the mileage level you are talking about. I haul powder to ready mix plants and we are always right around 79,800 every day. We don't have many breakdowns, but maintenance is the key.

That's what it's designed to do.

Heavy loads start at 140,000 lbs.

These guys down under pull some serious weight, on flat ground.

Lots of axles on these units, not "that" much weight I suspect, maybe... ?

If those tankers were all "full" I would guess 150 ton gross weight.

Any guesses ?

I make my truck beg for mercy every day, heavy, and hilly

70,000 lbs. shesh, my truck would be on a Holiday

I regularly pulled between 100 to 150 tonne with an old DAF 95 400. Thats right, only 400bhp. You don,t need a frigging monster to pull weight. Just a good driver
