Quote: I was just in Sam's Club today an saw Rotella 5w-40 synthetic boxed in 3 one gallon jugs for $44.46 for 3gals. That's $14.83 per gal. About $2.00 cheaper per gal.than Wally World.

I use a lot of synthetic Rotella so that helps somewhat.

That sounds like the price for conventional, not synthetic. If it is synthetic, isn't that a whole lot more than $2 savings?

wal-marts regular price is already pretty cheap.

If you're comparing to "truck stop prices", yes it's cheaper then conventional. I don't know anyone on this planet that buys oil at truck stops though.

I've bought oil at TS's, anytime I need to add a gallon...so now you know one

My notion of pricing comes from TS's and shops. I don't buy oil when I'm at home, I have better things to do 8) But when I switch over to synthetic I may have to check Walmart out...as much as I hate the idea :x

It's cheaper to buy Mobil 1 for my car at the TA than it is at Walmart or Target.

I despise Wal-Mart as well. Can't stand going in there - always packed tight.
I've used Amsoil for years and by far it is the best. I won't put it in my truck yet as it has the wonderful BME 9000 engine (Mercedes, arg) and it eats a quart of oil every 1500miles. Once I get the new lines retightened and new oil pan gasket on Amsoil will be going in there along with a by pass filter system. It'll pay for itself in no time and net me an additional 2% in yearly operating costs.

Let's see... that makes Rotella Synthetic (class 3) 16.83 a gallon at Wally World. Heck, I can get higher quality Amsoil (class 4) for $17 a gallon. Guess it isn't so great to shop at Walmart any more.

I know you guys are far from her but i buy oil at peace Country freightliner In Kamloops BC at 10.50 a gallon. They always have some sort of specials going on there. That is rotella oil and then they always have Del Mobil oil at the same price as well. that is the only place i buy oil from or other small stuff that i might need. Very cheap to reasonably priced for a dealership. every month they have a sale flyer.
