Hey guys how do?
The winter looks like it is finally over and the black Ice is gone (No more 30 wheel drifts or uncontrollable slides) Sick of being scared behind the wheel and sick of snow and ice .....but anywhoo!!!!!!!!
Can you chaps tell me what gives with Ambrose and Robbie Gordon. After the big Busch Race last weekend in canada when Gordon was blackflagged but refused to drop back as per stewards instructions and then deliberetly took Ambrose out , I would have thought they were sworn enemys. Today they are doing joint press conferences and Marcos is gonna drive his car this weekend at Watkins Glen (If he qualifys!)
Was this deal done before the busch race last weekend?
Hopefully Marcos can finally show you guys some real form. Where is his career at in Nascar do you think?? Can he make the big time?
Is this weekend an awesome opportunity or a major mistake??
Who the hell is Robbie Gordon?? We dont get Nascar on TV here in New Zealand!!

Is it him , Wood Bros or Tad Geshecter that is holding him back? |

Marcos has been running real well in the Busch Series and has a good shot at getting into Cup next year with his current team. Wood Brothers wants to get a 2nd team running and it looks like Jon Wood won't move into that car. His youg career is nearly over with the health problems he has been having.
This deal was done AFTER the Busch race as a peace offering. Robby realized afterwards that Marcos did not mean to wreck him on purpose. Robby admitted to letting off the gas about half a second before Marcos ran into him.
This weekend is a good weekend for him, he can obviously run the heck out of a road course as he showed at Mexico at this past weekend at Canada. |

Gordon thinks he's the greatest thing since sliced bread when it comes to road races and running dirt with a temper about a millimeter long.
He's a spoiled brat and if he doesn't get his way he wrecks the leader |

Kinda quick post this morning but, Cup Series is a whole different animal. A lot of Busch drivers either never make it to Cup or they get in and look silly out there and lose their ride plus never get another shot. A number of the current Cup drivers either didn't do anything notable in Busch or skipped right over the series and into Cup. 2 that come to mind are Tony Stewart and Jeff Gordon. Jeff ran decent won a race and then went into Cup and has proved to be one of the greatest drivers ever. Tony seemed to wreck more than he finished races but Joe Gibbs Racing promoted him to Cup and he has turned out to be one heck of a driver.
If Marcos can make the race, he has a good chance of finishing better than Robby. Just think, he will get the Busch race on Saturday as a tune up for Sunday's Cup race. Watkins Glen is not a very technical "hit your marks, find your rythmn" type of road ocurse. It's a flatout high speed, hope you don't wreck or put it in the gravel trap type of road course. Good track for Marcos to let it all hang out as it's the easiest out of the 4 NASCAR runs. |

| Well, that didn't work out for Marcos. He will not race Sunday due to the weather today. Qualifying was rained out this afternoon for the Cup Series. They were getting ready to go after a rain delay and the rain moved right back in and drenched the track yet again. |

| Wish we got some of that rain-Hasn't rained up here but maybe twice this year and we've got a MAJOR Forest Fire going on. |

Why dont they race in the rain the poofters ( Australian and New Zealand slang term for an effeminate man-No further explanation required)
The V8 Supercars (Where Marcos came from) series run road courses either wet or dry. They dont cancel Qual they just go with the flow. It sometimes brings some really interesting results. It also sorts the men from the boys.
Dont get me wrong I can understand why they dont run the ovals in the wet....but a road course???

NASCAR attempted it at Watkins Glen a while back. None of the drivers were brave enough to go out there and run on the new Goodyear rain tires except Dale Earnhardt Sr.
NASCAR also saw a problem with how much extra the teams would have to put into the cars to have them rain ready just in case on a road course. They needed wipers, defoggers, tail lights some sort of traction control, just too much extra that NASCAR didn't care for. It would cause the inspection process to be even further drawn out than it already is and a lot more rules added into the books |

So what your saying is that them good old boys runnin shine in the good old days dint do it when it was wet??

NASCAR is all about putting on a good show, running in the rain isn't much a show and would extend the race time at least an extra hour. Would TV stay for tht extra hour or more, if they don't you get a backlash from the fans. Are the fans at the track willing to sit in the rain for about 4 hours watching them run?? What about the pitcrews running around the car during a pitstop, how many are going to fall and get hurt??
NASCAR did run at Suzuka Japan in 1997 in an exhibition race during the rain, nobody enjoyed it. It was the first time NASCAR and Goodyear ever used the rain tires in competition. |

I see what your saying Mr Ford but the Aussie series runs rain or shine and most of the fans are dedicated enough to turn up regardless (Not always the case). The cars are similar but down on Horsepower slightly and have 4 doors instead of 2. The beauty of wet racing is that quite often it will throw in a surprise result and can create some really good racing due to drivers being uncertain how to run the race.
Mind you......you Americans wont play Rugby without shoulderpads and helmets so I guess we cant expect too much can we :D :D :D |

| Marcos ran good today, 13th in the Busch race. Didn't watch but a little bit, it was a typical road race in that pit strategy won the race from what I saw. |
