|
|
Now before I type anything, I just want y'all to know, I came here looking for a little help in my little project I've got going on over there, "YouTube". Now, The idea for me, was to go into detail about what I do, have done, seen, and have seen, since I've been a driver. My main goal with it is to allow the general public a little idea of what we do, what we go threw, pointers we can give, advice, and so on. This way before anyone goes and gets talked into it by a third party school, or company, they have a little bit of preemtive knowledge of what they are really in for, in the trucking industry.
Now where I need help in this. I need the wisdom of a lady driver in this. A few of my viewers, women of cource, want to hear from a lady driver, what you've had to go threw, what you've experianced, all that. As I've told them, I could only tell them what little I know, but it would be best coming from a lady driver. Now I'm not asking the world, but hey, as much as you'de like the help the better, ok. Before I go into what is needed, just shoot me a message here, and I'll get you the link to my page, after you see I'm as legit as I can be here, I'll go into what you could do to help out in it. I won't plug my page address here, for alot of reasons, mostly to keep from attracting the wrong people with it all.
Thanks for reading, be good or good at it, and this goes for any driver really, but for now, I really need the wisdom of a lady driver. Later all.

| Similar to your idea, Outlaw, I had this idea of appearing in driver's ed classes for 15 and 16 year olds. I'd love to see that happen, because I remember when I was 16 and in driver's ed, the instructor didn't know jack about big trucks. They just talked about the "no zones" blind spots and that was it. |

Your idea is needed a lot more out there then what I'm doing, lol. I'll tell you what you could do to cut your transitional worry. Just simply make yourself up a dvd introduction, what you have to offer to the schools, you really won't have to get real fancy I would think. Make a few dozen copies, and ship them off to the schools, see who bits. Just a suggestion though, but like I said, I think your idea is really worth chasing, anything to wise up the youngins out there is priceless.
Good luck with it.

| Outlaw...Willing to help if I can. Am a lady trucker who has been at this for nearly 30 years, am an owner/operator who runs the far north, Canadian Arctic. Let me know what you need. Just please be aware it may take me a few days to respond, as I run in the VERY remote far north & only get online when at home. Kat |

Since I run alone on some of the WORST roads on the planet...filming is not really practical, but snapping a few pics now & then works. I came up with a slideshow for that reason...but I THINK I've convinced my granddaughter to come along for the ride soon (she's 7) so I'm going to hand her the video camera & see what happens
I considered a website at one time, but who has time to keep it updated? NOT me :? :?
So for now, as we are entering our BUSIEST time of year...sheesh when are we NOT busy???  The blog will have to do. I have some gorgeous ( hope) fall pics...the colours are incredible! will post when I am not quite so tired.
If you want to send me some ideas for a site tho am always willing to listen :) |
