| I really don't but I thought the story did play on our fears that our team lost(no matter what the sport) because the ref got paid off. Now the poor guy is getting death threats. You reap what you sow. |

I was waiting for someone to post about this.
I hate the NBA but this story is HUGE and with the Mafia Connection this story is going to get monstrous.
Credibility of the NBA, if they had any, is SHOT
I think more are involved but that's just my opinion |

I have absolutely zero compassion for the guy and would be surprised to see him live to trial. The over and under is 5 to 2 that the mafia gets him before an enraged fan does. :)
I'm with Yoopr on this one. I hate the NBA and this story does not surprise me at all and I certainly do not think he is the only one. It is a huge story and will likely become one of the biggest before it's all said and done. On the other side, I love the NFL and I am all but certain that there are referees in the NFL and probably every major sport (college included), that are getting paid off to call games a certain way.
As far as the mafia connection, with the numbers that are brought in on sports betting, there is no way that organized crime is NOT tied to a few refs in every sport. Wonder how many will go down over this. |

| I was being scarcastic and the poor fellow remark. This a$$hole deserves what he gets. I won't condone killing someone, but his life is over. I feel bad for his family (if he has any) because you know some uber fan will threaten them also, and they didn't have anything to do with it. |

| Is this like the real Mafia? Like the movies? Real deal? Where they have hitmen, big bosses, and they are all from Italy? Cool. :P |

Was it the mafia or the mob? I thought it was the mob.
Either case, rule #1 is if you get busted, you keep your yapper shut. If you name names, someone will get sent out to shut you up. :) This guy wants to blow the whole thing wide open, name other officials & refs and maybe even the bookies. Bad idea. |
