OK, if he's had something to drink, then we're back to his trainer just being a complete a$$. Your initial post read like he had been deprived of both food and water for 36 hours.
Quote: He gets headaches if he doesn't have coffee in the morning like so many of us.
That's Caffeine withdrawal. It means that your caffeine intake is too much for the body to properly process. Been there, done that. Ain't fun. Getting off a regular coffee/coke routine solves it in a couple of days.
Back to the trainer, your husband still needs to stiffen up his spine. Screw rocking the boat. There are some things that just fall under common human decency. |

| Thanks to all of you for responding. I totally agree with the post that said the trainer should have started out at Walmart and told him what to expect. This "trainer" has been a winner since day one. Yesterday he came into the terminal to pick up my husband for his first day and just went about his own business of doing laundry, showering, basically disappearing while my husband sat in the lounge with his thumb up his behind. The guy didn't communicate. I've read a lot of posts about horrible trainers and this guy's not the worst I've heard of, but he's definitely got a lot to be desired. I'm glad I did the right thing by calling. I hope by tonight things are getting on track or he's got a new trainer. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again for the support! |

Please let us know how things are going. Contact the safety director at TransAm, and tell him what is going on. Like everyone said, that trainer needs to be gone!
Tell the bosses at TransAm if they dont do anything about it, we all are gonna get that trainer, and let him spend the night in north Ft Worth. (he is in Dallas, right?) Maybe at that Pilot on I-35. Be a good place for him :P |

When I was with Trans Am, I had a trainer by the name of Wayne.. I cannot remember his last name, but he was from Utica, NY. He was an awsome trainer, and a good guy to be around.. Just as long as you don't take his language personal.. Us here in the south are sensitive to that  |

| I talked to my husband last night and he said they stopped at a Burger King and he ate and stocked up on burgers to put in his trainers cooler. Also got some Mountain Dew in case he couldn't get coffee in the morning. On a positive note, he says his trainer is a good teacher, easy going and they are getting along. So, if he can get the food thing down, things should go pretty good. My husband loves driving the truck and thanks to this forum, we have support and knowledge on what to expect out there on the road. Thanks again for all the tips and support and I'll be in touch! |

I'd just as soon DH didn't eat at all so that we could pay the rent and the electricity and the car note and be able to have groceries.
I cannot relate at all to this post. DH has gone through 600 bucks in a month of advances. Job before this, he didnt have 200 a month.
His son is hungry. |

Ouch. Goin' through something similar myself; except we dont have kids too worry about. Once ya start making advances, things go downhill pretty fast. |

| they must hav amagic truck that needs no fuel..cause i am certain if they stopped for fuel you husband could run inside and get some grub for the road. but then again, maybe the dispatcher gave them HOT load and sid no fuel for the truck or drivers till it gets delivered...that is probably what happned now that i think about it cause there ain't no one dumb enough not to eat or drink anything substatial for 36 hours, is there?? |

What the frack is he buying? I never spent $600 a month while on the road.
And yeah. Once you start in on those advances it is hard to dig your way out.
Only time I ever would get an advance was for company expenses like tolls, scale fees, etc. Never for personal reasons.
Sounds like next time he comes home you need to send him back out with a couple of jars of peanut butter and some bread and a few cases of water and tell him if he takes out any more advances then he might as well not come home. |

| Thats good that he is getting his feast on. I cant go more then 2 hours with out water I drink lots of it. I don't think me and that trainer would be together vary long and wouldnt ever be the best of friends. Espeaclly if he gets food and I don't thats a big no no in my book. |
