| Posted: Fri Mar 18, 2005 9:03 pm Post subject: Ladies .... and Men ~ ~ ~ What's Your Handle? |
|
|
I've looked through alot of the post since I've become a member here ...
and I'm the kind of person that likes to keep information like ~~~
1. what a person's Handle ( name ) is, that's used when their on the road and talking on the CB ....
2. the company they drive for
so when traveling down these long hwy's and someone speaks up on the radio identifying themselves ... I remember who they are ... and I know if it's someone that has a good attitude or not .... and when I pull into a truck stop and I see a truck with their truck number ~ I know if I want to have coffee with them or hide...LOL
get the picture? ... this country is large, but yet so small ... in the few years I was out there ~ I'd come across drivers that I met on the other coast and it helped to make this place seem a little less cold and more comfortable ... especially being a Woman ... it was nice knowing that when I got out of my truck .. solo ... that possibly I would see someone having a bit to eat that I knew ... these kind of things make Life more enjoyable ...
Once when I was in PA. a driver came up to me and said that he remembered seeing me ... a 1000 miles away in another truck stop ... he joined me for lunch ~ and that made my day go by much easier....
if your comfortable doing it ~ why don't you add your handle here and who you drive for ... and I'll keep the info in my journal ~ so when I or any others are in the area .. we can say Hello to someone that we've talked to here at ~ ~ CAD ..
this is a Special Group of people here .. we have alot of new drivers coming on board ... this may help them not fell so alone out there also.
How About It !!
I'll start : .......... 4roses / not with a company yet, but hope to soon :!: Central - USA..

I've been wanting a handle since i started driving.. But i don't know too many drivers.. i was thinking a person had to earn one, but as much as i get to go out here lately, that would take for ever.
Sometimes people here at work as well as some other people, call me Hec. Short for Hector. I guess Hec is as good a handle as any.. So I am Hec. Complete Packaging Corporation, tractor #4. 2005 International. |

| I have been known as Bear for 30 years. I decided not to use it several years ago because of the connotation. A lot of people seemed to think I was the bear. As in DOT Bear. Now I just go by GMAN. It may not be too much better but at least drivers don't think I am DOT. Some of my closest associates still call me bear. Presently leased to CRST Malone pulling a covered wagon. |
