It would be nice to have a column that dealt with Canadian issues. We could keep track of Canadian companies, pay rates, job experiences etc.
How many Canadians use this forum? |

| There's actually quite a lot of Canadians who use this board. Ones who are in Canada and relocated ones like myself. Tell me something Steve why don't you put that you're located in Vancouver, British Columbia? Sorry but it bugs me when I see things on t.v. or in print and they only say the name of the city and then Canada. Just my opinion. I'm sure there'll be comments about what I've just said. Drive safe everyone. :) |

Sorry Mapleleaf. I didn't think anyone cared which province I was from and any Canadians would know right away what province Vancouver is located in. A lot of Americans would probably too being truckers.
So what's your story? What city and province do you reside in? How did you get your first job as a truck driver? |

I am now residing in southwestern Wisconsin. Been here for 4 years now. I have my own truck and I drive be myself. Been driving for just about 8 years now. My hubby has his own job and stays home taking care of our Siberian huskies. I'll usually take one of them at a time on the road with me.
I was born in Ontario and I've lived all over the province from Hudsons Bay on down. Raised in Montreal, Quebec. I've travelled from one end of Canada to the other many times. Never tire from the scenery. Been through most of the States driving truck but not to the western end of it yet. Drive safe everyone. :) |

:) I've been working on Canadian residency for a while now. I am pre-approved...and I'm scheduled to go to the Canadian Consulate end of June to finish the paperwork...so I can live and work in Canada. |

| Man isn't it a pain in the a** Roadhog. It took 2 years for all the crap I had to go through to get my visa to come to the States and my permanent residency. Also cost a good chunk of money. Every time you had to do another application for something you had to send X number of hundred of dollars $$$ with it. What bugs me is that if I came into the States claiming refuge status or such I wouldn't have to pay the fees, but because I am and always have been a hard working person I pay through the nose. Doesn't seem fair to me somehow. Drive safe everyone. :) |
