|
|
Yep, it's official, Michael Waltrip got a pole in a Toyota. Allegedly fell asleep at the wheel, ran off the road, woke up, over corrected, rolled the land rover and hit a telephone pole.
Says he didn't know that he was required to notify the police since it was his car in a one vehicle accident. Walked home and was supposedly in the pool house taking a shower and didn't hear the Police when they came to the house to check on him. Also swears that alcohol was not a factor in the incident!
And I got some nice ocean front property in Arizona for you!! |

| With how stressed he has been trying to get his new team up and running, I'll believe it. Him being an oddball, I'll also believe the shower in the pool house quote. I have seen a number of people get charged for leaving the scene but not in the same circumstances. They left to call police and then were charged for doing that. At least he is ok. |

| Bet he makes the race at Texas and gets onto the plus side of points. :D Think the flip may have finally knocked his head into place for qualifying. Stop thinking and just f-ing drive the car. He has been saying the past few weeks that his head was in the wrong place come qualifying. Remember, the last few races he has only been a hundreth to two hundreds of a second from being in the field. That ain't much to miss it by. |

I wouldn't count on it.
Don't know how your head can be in 2 places when you're running over 100 mph |

Who knows with Mikey, his head is always all over the place. Just like his brother. DW will be talking and then break into a song during a telecast clear out of the blue. :D
He just wasn't focused solely on driving the car to the limit during his runs by his own admission. He missed the last race by 2 hundreds of a second, during all the practices before qualifying, he was solidly in the race with his speeds. He was around 25th, went out for qualifying and was the slowest he had been all day which was not good enough to get in. Missed Bristol by thinking too much. Said they had hit on a setup that would get them into the race but did some tweaking between practice and qualfying that made the car way worse when they thought it would help just a tiny bit more. That's racing though, sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and even the best still miss setups horribly. |

Man. Good luck going down 114. That highway is madness during the off season, let alone NASCAR being in town. |

| I thought Mikey would get some good luck on Friday the 13th but it is not to be thus far. Ran 1 lap in practice before having a fire under the dash. He was the slowest on the speed chart with that 1 lap. |

| Tornadoes just south of the track and large hail(softball size) kept Waltrip from even attempting to get in. NASCAR cancelled everything and told everyone to take cover. Waltrip will stay in last place, 54th with minus 27 points. |

| Man, Kurt and Kyle are having a bad weekend. Kurt hammered the wall in Turn 1 and 2 so hard on the right side that the car was sitting about a foot the wrong direction. Kyle just backed it into the fence this morning. Blamed on the Earnhardt Jr bump. |
