| Ok this is just getting a tad silly. Both Flying J WI-FI and Idleaire are banned from CAD. Does this not seem just a bit stupid if cad wants users to be able to post on there forum. Thank god for proxies! |

| We've been over this before. Back when we were getting major spam and some of it extremely disgusting, we were banning both the log-in and the IP address in order to keep the ship from sinking, particularly after we got a lot of repeat spammers. Those issues have been resolved for quite some time now, but there are still a lot of those IP's in the banned list. Not much that can be done about it short of deleting the banned IP list (definitely not going to happen) or having you dig up an IP that you are trying to post from so that we can selectively unban it. |

I wonder if it would be possible to request an IP list from Flying J and IdleAire, so you can go through an un-ban those numbers that are on your ban list.
Rev; glad he isn't using WiFi or IdleAire. |

Very interesting since Flying J wi-fi and idileaire has the same ip addy no matter were you are. You are going to preclude hundreds of drivers from CAD. Hmmmm Interesting way of doing business.
Oh and REV I am at a flying J in Albuquerque Nm. Which is banned. But I am running it thru a proxy so i can get on cad. |

No, they don't. Each location has a group of IP addresses that they use. Every driver who logs on to their server gets their own IP addy from the group. Those IP addresses are recycled, as drivers log off. The problem comes when someone uses one of those IP addresses to spam CAD.
Many times simply logging off and back on to the network will get you a new IP address (depending upon how busy their system is). When I was using WiFi, I recorded something like 450 different IP addresses over a 6 month period.

It's better than the massive amount of spam that used to be here.

Cheater. :P
You are piggybacking another IP addy on top of the IP addy that Flying J assigned you. Shame on you. |

Yes I am since CAD is unwilling to fix the problem. Next The TA WI-FI will be banned. And that does not leave much else for people who do not use cell cards. |

I'm sure there are already certain T/A IP's that are banned, as well as Pilot IP's. |

madbunny used a proxy service to log in. Basically, you "piggyback" someone else's IP address to visit a website. The website you visit records the "piggybacked" address, rather than the true IP address. Search "anonymous web surfing" on any search engine, and you'll find services that do this for you. |
