Well from what I read on the XM website they are merging. So seems like we all get the best of both worlds. I have XM now and I love it I hope it stays great.
Where I got the info from.

| That would be nice. I am not buying in until there's a clear winner. I bought Betamax, you know... |

| I personally think that they will remain seperate services, kinda like sprint/nextel. They stand to make more money if you have to choose one or the other, but I dont think the government is going to like it much because they are the only two sattelite radio companies and that is a huge monopilization. Id be surprised if the gov. allowed such a transaction. |

They already said they would be merging the two services if the deal goes through, eliminating repetitive stations. |

They both will, assuming the deal goes through. The repetitive channels will be eliminated (ie. only one 70's channel, only one 80's channel, etc.). I assume they will go with whichever one they feel is the better suited. |

I switched from XM to Sirius about a month ago, when I was switching out equipment, since I really didn't want to take the dash apart to unhide the old wires and hide the new ones, I plugged in the XM power cord and XM antenna to my Sirius Stratus. I have not had a bit of problem with "signal strength". I can receive Sirius most anyplace unless I am under an overhang or in a tunnel I get a clear signal.
If it's the signal to the radio you are talking about, go to an electronics store and get the direct connect adapter. It plugs in the middle of your antenna wire for both the vehicle and the Sat. Radio. No outside interference at all from radio stations on the same freq. |

I've had no problem with Sirius reception, make sure your antenna is in a good place like a mirror mount.
Merging would not be a monopoly as anyone with the money can put up a satellite and broadcast from orbit.
As a Sirius subscriber I would like to have MBL to go along with all the other sports I get now. |
