| I HAD THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM.. THE TRANS FLUID IT TOO THICK OR YOU HAVE TOO MUCH IN IT. I HAD 90/140 GEAR OIL IN MINE PLUS 1/2 GAL OF LUCAS OIL STABILIZER & TOO MUCH OF IT ALL INTO TRANS. IT MADE A HORRIBLE NOISE WHEN GOING DOWNHILL, BUT IF I PUT INTO NEUTRAL IT WOULD GO AWAY. I CHANGED TRANS FLUID. PUT IN 50 WEIGHT & NO PROB SINCE. THAT WAS 8 YEARS AGO. WHEN 1ST STARTING OUT. STILL HAVE SAME TRANS. STILL WORKING FINE. TROY |

| the super 10 takes 50 wt oil. it Will hold just barley over 2-1/2 gallons. after you change fluid, post your results. i know my gear shifter shook & vibrated when exceeding my governed speed. it really only was noticeable when in 10th gear & when i was loaded heavy going down hills. but going up a slight hill where i could keep in it 10th, it did not make a sound.only downhill. good luck |

All Roadranger style transmissions take either 50 weight engine oil, or the special synthetic 50 that they sell. You can also use straight mineral 80W-90 gear oil (NOT GL-5 which is rear axle oil, the smelly stuff). But I have found that with either engine oil or the synthetic in them they always perform and feel much better than with gear type lubricant in them. FWIW I just use regular old Delo 400 straight 50 in stock at my Chevron oil dealer.
