So if you keep your nose clean you get to pay full price. But if you're a convicted criminal, they pick up the tab. What a wonderful message we send!

Texas has a similar program they call RIO:

http://www.texasworkforce.org/twcinfo/rules/ch847.pdf
http://www.twc.state.tx.us/svcs/rio.html

What these documents, nor the remainder of the WEB site will tell, is just how extensive the support was for convicted felons. The documents dictate that TWC coordinate other support services as necessary for Project RIO.

When this was conceived the state of Texas threw, and still does, huge amounts of money into this program both directly and indirectly. Some of these felons have qualified for full training payment, housing payment, food and utilities payment as well as free vehicle if their situation "dictated" it was necessary.

All the while they were/are throwing all of this money at convicted felons, there are thousands of hard working, honest and good people/families losing everything financially because they can't even obtain basic assistance while they try to turn their lives around.

I had this great bank robbery plan here in Okla  . But your Texas convict program sounds so much better. Perhaps I will rob one in Texas. Since Walker, Texas Ranger is retired I should be ok. Oh wait, the plan is to get caught  .

Okie,

I tried planning a crime spree one day. Took all of about 10 minutes to realize I am to honest to be crooked and gave up on the plan.

Stevens Transport has a major CDL mill in Dallas and you can guess what they get a lot of there!
