| I do not have a DAC report. Since my CDL I have had 2 employers, myself and my father. So what does a company do, check with my previous employers? |

As long as you have your log books, and your tax returns, you should be okay.
Remember to give yourself a glowing reference. :D |

You should be totally fine. Most of the times Major company's are the ones who post on your DAC. So you should be totally fine. Most comapny's look for bad DAC report so they will not say much. Just have all your records and current phone numbers to the previos employers

| Most companies check the last 3 years of employment unless something pops up on your DAC. Just because you don't have anything on DAC doesn't mean that you have not been working in the industry. Most of the time, employers will fax a release form to the former employers. As long as your MVR is clean, you should not have any problems. If you have worked for yourself, they may want to check with some of your customers or brokers to verify employment. If you operated under a corporate structure and the corporation is still in business, you could just have them fax a release form to you and you can give yourself a good recommendation. Some could require you to have a notorized statement from shippers with whom you have worked. They could accept log books, but letters are usually easier to use. If there are carriers with whom you are interested in working, I would call them and ask what you need, since each company is different. |

| I've driven local all my driving career. Do local companies like Lowe's, Viking freight, or a building products company report to DAC? |

| No record on DAC can't hurt you if you worked for a reputable company that doesn't do DAC (like mine). |

I got another job after I got laid off. No problem. Having a former boss who actually cries when he talks about how hard it was to let you go really helps too. |
