|

I was terminated from Schneider for
violating company policy. I had an
accident causing some trailer damage..but no other damage to property or other vehicle. I wanted to pay for the trailer repair myself on my credit card to
avoid having to tell Schneider..
but it turned out such repair was
not readily available in a timely
manner where I was driving. So
the combination of an initial false
explaination for delaying the load
1-day became a longer delay ..and
I was unable to get the trailer reaired. I was terminated for not
IMMEDIATELY telling Schneider the
situation...and this is surely on
my DAC as well. What can I expect
in finding job possibilities as a
company driver?? I live in S. California..and am especially interested in a company with very good home time policy ( possibly
ROEHL ?? ) but am open to other ideas...I have several years exp.
and this episode is one where I
intended to pay and fix the problem
myself ( again..no other vehicle or
property was involved ) but my bad
judgement may have done me in with
a large number of companies. |

| How many years experience do you have over the road, and I will see if my company would hire you with what you have told me above and the years experience you have. |

| I think you will have problems getting on with a good company. By not reporting the incident ASAP and then trying to fix it yourself makes you look like you were definitely trying to hide something. Good luck. |

had you been honest you probably would not have been looking for another job. whoever does look at hiring you make sure that they know that is one of the biggest lessons you learned. |

here's your options
1 be honest with the company's your applying to and tell them you screwed up
2 you outright lie and rebut the comments on your dac with your own version.
3.combination of both
4 hope they don't give a sht if they ask tell them the truth if they don't oh well
which option you choose is up to you.
ps they will get your personnel file from schneider so whats on your dac will not really matter as its already on your file and by signing any app you will be legally releasing it. good luck |

Just be honest about it.
As a previous small fleet owner, now down to my one truck and trailer, I would have given my left nut to have a driver that took responsibility for a screw up.
My policy, and other o/o's I worked for as a driver, was you broke it, you fix it. I did not want to hear about it, unless of course it involved another persons property.
I am exaggerating a bit, but you all hopefully get my point.
On edit: If this was your only bad mark, and you had a clean record, I would have seriously considered hiring you if that helps any. You might want to check out some smaller companies or o/o's, we kind of appreciate drivers with a conscience. And next time just pipe up about the screw up, we do not like our loads being late. That is worse then a few dollars damage to a trailer. |

| And we would hire you and we are a pretty big company. So do what someone said tell the truth and you shouldn't have a problem |
