Know this is really late for an answer, but a 300-400 watt inverter will run a crock pot.

Hi, Just thought I would throw my 2 cents in here as well. I found a small crockpot at walmart that is 35 watts. I have used it to warm up food but have not tried to cook with it yet. I would imaging you would have to start early in the morning and let it sit all day long. Also, there is nothing to really hold down the lid on those bumpy roads so you would have to use something along the lines of duct tape to secure the lid. I will say it successfully warmed my precooked meal in about an hour.

My husband found a crock pot at one of the flying J truckstops in Salt Lake Ut. He loves it and has bought the stew bags at walmart and other soup makings..let it cook for a day and presto! Hot soup! I think he siad they were $26.00, not bad and runs on your truck adapter in the sleeper

I have a small 1-qt. 75-watt crock. I take soups, casseroles, chili, etc. Much like I packed a lunch for the old job and put in microwave then. Now I use the crock. Last night I took and handfull of those meatballs & BBQ wings thru it in their and wasn't to long before I was almost late for my last stop because I was wanting to pull over so bad & eat it. As for the lid mess, I line mine with a piece of foil long enuf to line crock & stick up to fold over lid. Helps with clean up also, for the casseroles, wings and stuff all it requires is a quick wipe out with a paper towel. I agree I doubt it would cook anything but warming all rdy made stuff works for me.
