One of our drivers (newbe) called today to say he was being delayed due to fog.
I asked him how many hours he had left and he told me, 1.5 for driving and 1 hour on his on duty for 14 hrs.
I told him if he thought that he was able to reach his destination within his legal hours if he was not delayed by the fog, that yes, he could drive past the 14th hour due to the adverse weather that caused him to pull off til the fog cleared.
Was I correct in my expaination to him?

No. The adverse driving exception only applies to the 11 hour driving rule, not to the 14 hour rule.
