Where to put my drink? In a travel mug that fits perfectly in the cupholder? I already have a few that I can use-too easy. Maybe in the rather common 32oz or 44oz fountain cups that fit fine? Or maybe in the 1-liter bottle that fits, but moves around a little. Hmmm.

Nah. Let's go looking in a truckstop for something to adapt the cupholder for my purposes. But let's skip the merchandise section..

Let's see if we can find a suitable item in a truckstop restroom. But wait! Gimme that one piece of porous, permeable, bacteria and filth absorbing cardboard almost guaranteed to have been handled by people. Almost guaranteed to be used by people taking a $#!T and wiping their @$$. Yeah.

Um... That truckstop adapter is exactly where I want to place my drink- which will go to my lips multiple times!

I got a roll of duct tape at the dollar store and removed layers of tape until it fit in snugly. The dollar roll only has a quarter inch of tape on it so the waste was minimal (and I wrapped it on an empty soda can to save it anyways  ). My truck is an older FLD120 but I think the cupholder is the same. I dumped a 24 oz coffee on the floor when I hooked a trailer about a month ago  but no more problems since I "fixed" it. Anybody know why they made them so ridiculously big  ?

if you are scared of bacteria just microwave it for 2 minutes

just like a pourous sponge that will be sanitized by 2 minutes in a microwave

put down a napkin to protect the microwave

these cardboards come out of a locked dispenser that you would have to reach 2 inches inside off

to touch with dirty hands

this was a sugestion for those of us that would rather spend 5 bucks on dinner

then on a cupholder insert

i save 10 since my 2 cupholders in my 05 century both have the cardbord centers

one for drinks and one for my cellphone my pens and my tripbook

i got better things to do with 10 bucks

i like freebies

the next time your stuck overnight at a con in wi or northern minn or

north dakota or jersey

with no porta potty available and its minus 20 outside

i bet your going to use a pee bottle inside your warm truck

ya i am a farm boy

i aint afraid of red and green engineering

its a way of life

bet you never realized that in -20 weather if your hands get wet

the snow is so dry that it will help absorb the water on your hands

its called dry powder for a reason

I just measured the cup holder dimensions, went to a Home Depot and got a piece of pvc of the same dimensions, problem solved.
Maybe a 1.00 and didnt require to stop at any truckstop.

You guys are all WAY off the mark on this one. keep your drink in a foam drink cozy/huggie and all will be fixed.

If you dont know what they are, here is a picture,
http://www.kustomkoozies.com/foam-koozies.html

You can put 12oz cans and 16, 20, 24, bottles in them with no problem and it will fix this problem. Dont Macgyverize this solution, buy one of these at a truck stop for under a $1.

its funny how every driver i show the cardboard insert to

says thank you bro

especially those that have a 2002 or earlier

with that flip out cupholder

it fixes that one too

but you might want to duct tape it since that cupholder bounces
