Too make a long story short ... I was working for a company that gave me 3 bad trucks in 3 mouths was most down most of the time. The last time this happen I was in PA for a week. When I got the truck back I headed to the term. Had a heated discussion with them about the bad trucks .Begged them for a new truck. They said no and told me if I don’t like it I can go home . So I said fine. He sent a drop number for the yard and I went home.
The guys at the yard told me that they said they terminated me.
How badly is that going to hurt me when I apply at jbhunt or Schneider?
I have been OTR for 1.5 year.
1 Non Preventable
Thanks OP |

| It all depends upon how they word it on your DAC. I would get a copy of it BEFORE you apply anywhere else. |

| This "heated" discussion didn't get to the point of real or implied physical threats or threats of abandonment of equipment on anyone's part over the shoddy equipment did it? :? |

No. I did not make threats. I just told them I felt it was costing me too much money to work there. And some days I worked they never paid me at all. Very disconcerting knowing you probably not getting paid for the work you about to do.
It was Covenant. |

| it'll probably say something like "co. terminal without notice" (if you didn't tell them you were coming to terminal) and depending on if what you did was a "company policy violation" it might say that too. not sure about how the other companies will look at that, but if you have good work history besides that incident, it may be ok. how many other jobs have you had in your 1.5 yrs otr? that weighs in too - if you've had 5 or 6 with any other bad news, it looks way worse than if you were at a company for 15 months with an excellent record and then a bad time w/ covenant. |

Hey Op,
Every day is a new adventure, 1.5 years with Covenant should get you in the door at other trucking jobs.
What you posted reminds me of the previous company i worked for that had shotty equipment. Do not apply with Priority, they have the shotiest equipment. Within the first 3 month i worked for them, 70 drivers left all because of several reasons:
1) Shotty equipment
2) good miles, as long as you get it there in 9 hours (1500 miles in 9 hours, which is not possible legally or illegally)
3) switched a bunch of people around in the office, over 85% of them do not know what they are doing.
4) half a*# directions, i personally was terminated all because i got lost due to lousy directions.
What i stated above is "THE TRUTH" about Priority, and Op, if Priority comes calling asking you if you'd like to work for them, take my advice, avoid them like the plague. |
