|
|
SAN DIEGO The chair of the House Armed Services Committee asked the Pentagon today to remove CNN reporters embedded with U-S combat units.
The network televised portions of a video on Wednesday showing insurgent snipers targeting U-S military personnel.
Executives said the tape came to the network unexpectedly through contact with an insurgent leader.
Representative Duncan Hunter wrote in his letter that, quote, "CNN has now served as the publicist for an enemy propaganda film featuring the killing of an American soldier."
San Diego-area Republicans Darrell Issa and Brian Bilbray also signed the letter.
CNN executives defended their decision to air the footage, saying its news value outweighed other concerns.
CNN strikes again with their pro-terror and anti-US Military stance. I think that there ought to be more inmates in Gitmo right now or the CIA and other agencies ought to have EVERY phone call into and out of CNN recorded. |

I never watch the Communist News Network.
If that's not a case for treason, I don't know what is. |

Exactly what do liberals running our country have to do with the actions of a news team halfway around the world?
Have you checked who exactly is running the country? SCOTUS, Congress, President; not exactly a liberal majority in any of those...
And while you're rounding up CNN contributors, lets grab Brig. Gen. David Grange (Ret.). He belongs in Gitmo too, right?
The media really has some bad ideas for stories sometimes. I'm not sickened by the story (I hate America and have never served, you see), but I think the story was irrelevant to us at home. In the end, you can't pick and choose what is allowed to be shown or written about in the media. Although you can pick who is in the White House pres corps. Ask Jeff Gannon. |

jmilici wrote: And it's OK for the news to show us killing insurgents and Iraqi civilians? Come on people, the Iraqi lives are no less valuable than ours. To them they are fighting an occupation of their country. We as Americans only see what our government lets us see. If you want to know the true realities of war, then we need to see both sides of the story.
America is sheltered from the truth of what is really going on over there. That is why this war has lasted as long as it did. This administration doesn't care about anybody, the innocents that have been killed in indiscriminate bombings, the "insurgents" or our own troops. The proof in that is in the fact that we sent these troops over their with less than adequate armour.
Do not blindly believe everything you see and hear from this administration. To be a real American patriot, you need to Question Everything. We need to stop blindly trusting the Bush administration and hold them accountable for the mess we are in. This country needs to go back and re-learn about the American revolution. The government has become the same government our founding fathers fought and warned us about in the constitution.
And you better not call me liberal. I will never understand that labeling. I will never understand why Americans, especially Bush lovers always make things so black and white. Your either a "liberal" or "conservative", "your either with us or against us". Come on know, that is nothing but 1st grade rhetoric.
I really do not care what any flag waving, magnet displaying wannabe patriot thinks of me, I took the red pill(for lack of a better analogy), my mind and eyes are very wide open. I see the fact that the media, the government takes us for fools. Me personally, I love this country, I love the constitution and will protect it at all costs(from external as well as internal enemies), but our current government, well, I do not want nothing to do with. They DO NOT represent me.
I apologies for hijacking this thread, I am just getting angrier and angrier by the day at the fact that most Americans do not see or care what is going on and how we have seem to have forgotten history. Make sure you read my sig., that quote should say alot.
I agree, the media has the RESONSIBILITY to report whatever is News and people want to know. people want to know whats happening over there! Showing us a rosie picture is not what the reality of WAR is. Unless you would like to (further) censor the media you have to expect to see blood. Showing us a rosie picture only does us a dis-service, we want to know the truth, not what Bush wants us to know. If you would rather walk through life in denial with your head buried in the dirt, just look at White-House press releases for all your news.
If you really have the will to be informed you will have to look and read numerous sources including multiple international news agancies. Too many in this country are ABSOLUTELY CLUELESS!
AM radio is not exactly balanced  |

There's no denying that CNN is ANTI-Bush administration, and to some extent, anti-GOP. But it is ridiculous AND libelous to assert that they are in any way PRO-Terrorist or ANTI-military.

And if they need any help with their Gestapo tactics, I'm sure they can ask for it from their KGB buddies. Besides, the NSA is allready "on it," Fozzy. At the direction of the President, and without FISA court warrants.
And when this administration has successfully overturned our First and Fourth Ammendment rights.... I hope you won't mind if they do the same to our Second Ammendment rights, and come take away your GUNS!! |

Fozzy: You just called for the "rounding up" of much of the Free Press and putting them in concentration camps, as well as infiltrating and monitoring free communications of an American Corporation.
What part of Gestapo don't you understand?

| CNN was the news group that broke the Abu Grauhip prison and the secret prison stories and a few other stories that have showed how far Bush and his cronies will go to get power. I for one like CNN and the coverage they show Fox on the other hand the only thing they will show is what Rove tells them to show. Just remember when the door gets busted down and you are hauled off and held without trial that Bush was the one that stipped your rights away from you not Clinton. |

This is the problem with you "over emotional" types who think with parts of you body other than what nature planned. This is not what I wrote and you of course no that, but since you have some sort of "bogieman" complex, to make your point, you need to attribute thngs to other that they have not said. If there are media people in direct contact with LEADERS of enemies of the United States especially when it comes to forwarding things such as films of the illegal murder of uniformed soldiers by people conducting miltary operations dressed as civilians. then its time to definately round the people up who are in contact with them as a danger to the American people.

The part where it relates to this story in anyway. I realize that you political biased hysterical bedwetters see everyone that you disagree with as Nazi's but convenient tossing around of the term when its so obvious that you are completely ignorant of the term and of the times, gets pretty tiring and is basically intellectually void. |

Get a grip on reality! Read the history books and quit resorting to insults to menace people into not speaking their mind.
If you cannot bear to see american troops killed, you should not support the war- thats kinda what happens in war- people get killed! |

The repeatedy tossing out childish Nazi metaphors isn't insulting?

I have no problem with the reporting of US and Coalition deaths. By reporting these deaths maybe someone on the left may see that this is actually a war and that those we are fighting against deserve no quarter and trying to be governed by the Geneva accords is foolish.
I have a huge problem with a "news" source dealing directly with the terrorists to get this shown. If CNN wants to deal with the terror groups to get over sensational news to boost their ratings and to curry favor with those Liberals;s who support them in Washington and create another level of "October surprise", they need to remove themselves from the country and set up their headquarters with their friends in those areas. |
