How much should I spend for new kingpins on a 2001 Volvo 770
My plan is to replace all of the tie rod ends and then take it in for kingpins.
Dealer or private facility?
Anything else I should pay attention to in the front suspension?
Thanks

| In my corner of georgia it runs between 700 and 850 with the kaiser kingpins and alignment. |

| About a 1000 bucks in Ontario. I usually like to take that kind of work to a spring shop they usually know all the shortcuts and do more of them than a dealer or a general repair guy. It's also nicer if they have an alignment machine right there to finish off the job. |

You might as well get them to do the tie rod ends, as I think they have to take the bar off anyways.
Let me know how much it improves, my kingpins are definitely worn, but "within spec". |

Would you just replace the loose king pin and leave the other side alone??

"Within spec" does not indicate that the end-play will not cause tire damage... just that it is safe to drive.
When a kingpin is loose enough to cause a noticable FEEL in the steering, they will likely cause undesirable tire wear... IMO. |
