That's outrageous-Wouldn't that be considered under Contents of the Truck on the Policy?

I am not sure what specificly would cover it but he is leased to Triple Crown and has their insurance (they are not self insured ) and was informed the q-com is not covered under his policy.
I would imagine that others are the same.

I'll bet that alot of people would be surprised with what's on their Policies until something like what you said happens.
I suppose your buddy did some checking into this with a Lawyer?

You would be surprised how many policies don't cover the contents of the truck, or won't cover any aftermarket electronics that are installed in the truck (including TV's, stereos, qualcomm, etc).

This should be a wake up call to O/O's to check their policy to make sure they are covered.

I've heard of people having to get a homeowners (or renters) policy to cover the contents of the truck.

Renters insurance is cheap too so it would be beneficial to have it.

My insurance covers anything that is installed in the truck automatically and covers any other items that I remember to tell them about. I just keep the receipts so there aren't any questions about how much the items cost.

It is worth checking b/c lots of insurance carriers will try not to cover as much as possible.

There are a number of exclusions to some insurance policies. My comprehensive policy doesn't even cover my side kit, tarps, etc., unless I add a ryder. It is too expensive so I don't have those items covered. I would have expected that my side kit would at least be covered. You need to read every word of your insurance policy so that you know what is covered.
