Yes I am sure, I picked up the phone and asked them. No I don't work for them. I was going to a few months ago but decided not to. Call Rod at the OR terminal. At the time I talked to him I had 6 months with Swift and 5 months local. He put me on with a year experience, .36 cpm. Not to shabby. They were going to fly me to the terminal for orientation. If you want more info about Marten, do a search. There is a few Marten drivers here. Some Ex Marten drivers also.

The ClassADrivers site is not always up to date. Call them, talk to Rod and find out for yourself. You might have to go out with a trainer for a bit, you might just walk in and after orientation you get your own truck. Just ask them. Marten Transport, Mondovi WI. Same Marten. Go to their website and find the OR terminal and talk to ROD.

True, your best bet is to just call them. You might want to be nice and ask politly for a job, don't go talking to them like they owe you a job. They tend to not like that.

There is one thing I do see missing. How about a rating system. Sort of an answer to DAC. The more complaints you hear on here about a company, the lower their listing number goes. Say, no complaints, listing is a 10. No good comments, but a lot of bad ones and the listing is a 1.
I've been out here long enough to know that there are companies that I WILL NOT work for. But there are other companies that I don't know much about. And those just coming into the industry have no idea at all. With that, they could look for the highest number and try to pick one of them to work for. |

The hauling hazmat is going to be the one that will get much tougher. And I'm having a problem with that. Get fingerprinted, have a background check done, and for what? There were fourteen foreign drivers that the FBI identified as having connections with Al Qaeda, and Homeland Security still approved them to haul hazmat. What's the point of fingerprints and background check if they're going to allow terrorists to drive hazmat?
