They're right on their toes. Boy do I feel safe.
The no-fly list meant to keep terrorists off planes contains unlikely terrorists, such as Bolivia's president and people already dead - including 14 of the 19 Sept. 11 hijackers. Steve Kroft reports.
Now, if they can do as well with the ones that are still alive...... |

Glad you got all that out of your System.
Have we been attacked since 9/11?
I guarantee they're planning one every single day of the Year.
Homeland Security is doing a Great job. |

| Even in Guantanamo, terrorist detainees are plotting future attacks. Every day a 2nd attack does not take place is a job well done. |

Well.. let's see, prior to 9/11 (2001) we hadn't been attacked on our homeland since '93. Prior to that? 1941?
How LITTLE did homeland security have to do with foiling the plot in England that ALMOST attacked multiple American planes enroute to our homeland?
The fact that we are fighting them "over there" has had no PROVEN effect on their ability to attack our homeland.
But, it has drained BILLIONS of dollars from the budget to do just that.
Our borders are so porous that we have NO idea how many terrorists are now within our country.
I CERTAINLY don't want to see another attack on our soil, but I fear it will still come. And when/if it does, I HOPE it will put an end to this silly argument that we are somehow safer now because we haven't been attacked since 2001.
It took them YEARS to plan that one. I see no reason to believe that we are "in the clear" because of the current direction of our efforts. |

| The sieve at the Mexican border proves Homeland Security proves that our homeland is not secure....the NEXT attack will have "slipping through the Mexican border" written all over it..... |

Never fear, BD! We're gonna spend a few more billions building walls without "endpoints" to keep them out! At least maybe by doing so, we can "contain" some of them, as THEY will probably get all the jobs offered by the construction companies!
Give me 3 battalions of "construction engineers" and all the concertina wire I can get my hands on, and ONE geosynchronous satellite with infrared imaging overhead, and "I" will close these borders by the end of the month!
Of course, THEN, certain people would have to vote Democrat in the next election, because we would have offered a solution to a problem! |

Stating that we are safer now than before Bush took office/ enacted Homeland defence is a provocation to terrorists to prove that arguement wrong...Remember the tape Osama put out just b4 the prez. elections of 04?
terrorist do not hate the american people themselves, its the regieme that they hate, the foreign policy and the arrogance of US rethoric; the meddling with mid-east affairs. One good way to make us safer is to let them know the Bush regieme has run amok and we are trying to get rid of the fools, you must bear with us  Of course we must be sure to get rid of the Bush regieme..... |

| couldnt have been a worse choice...just looking at the relations w/ N.Korea makes it clear a 13 year old could have done better just by chatting w them...Also, by 04 the damage was done already, and N. korea resumed its Nuke program. |

I could be wrong, but the largest group of people I've been hearing of these Muslem Extremists blowing up is more Muslems, lately. Sort of like: I'm an American, and I hate Muslems, so I'm going to blow up other Americans. Where's the logic???? |

They hate our religions, our politics, our freedom, our democracy, our right to choose, our food, our clothes.
What is left for them to like?
They hate the very air we breath, and that is proven every time they kill one of us, and then cheer in the streets when it happens.
And this is where we fail.
We fail to do something about WHY they hate us.
We don't care.
We think we are impervious to this hate and that in the end, as long as we hold out the carrot stick that they can be just like us, that eventually this problem will go away.
This hate has been a long time building, and it will be much longer time abating.
The Jews hate the Arabs, the Irish Catholics the Iris protestants. This hate is embedded into their culture. I am sure you would have a hard time finding someone who can explain why they hate. It is simple. It is because they where taught to hate from the day they where born. Most Westerners do not yet hate the Moslem's. But that is coming. It is only a matter of time before we hate them as much as they hate us.
There are tribes that have hated each other for thousands of years.
We are at the very beginning of a very long hatred. We will not see it diminish in our lifetimes, nor will our children in theirs.
As far as Homeland security doing a good job, I am sure they are working very hard, and I am sure they have done lots to prevent some acts from happening.
But I see this as no more than the phony war that happened between the Invasion of Poland and the invasion of France.
It is a phony war, and the next time they attach they will make 9/11 seem insignificant in nature.
First they killed 220 (the marines in Lebanon), then they killed 3,000 on 9/11. They need to up the ante.
Next it will be 30,000. Or maybe 300,000.
Why?
Because they hate us. |
