I am currently driving a 2006 Freightliner Columbia. I check the brakes on a regular basis and the brakes have not needed to be adjusted. When i do need to adjust them how hard is it? I mean the procedure is not complicated but are the adjuster normally frozen like on your car? or do they adjust pretty easily?
The fuel filter has a valve to drain the water under the hood. i see the level coming up just a little. Does this mean its time to drain? It does a valve to drain it. How do I know when to drain.

| i cant speak for an 06 freightliner...... but i know on my 2000 shaker i my brakes are self adjusted?? never had to have them adjusted...also the fuel filter i leave that to the shop...just the other day i went to drain a lil bit and left the valve open for no more than 5 seconds and truck cut off on me..had to get it reprimed :D is there more than 1 fuel filter on a 2000 century class?? anyone know |

For your Auto Slacks, which by the way I HATE, to adjust you'll see a Button that needs to be lifted and then Turn the Hex nut until you can feel resistance and then back it off 1/2 turn.
By Law if the DOT wants to be Jerks unless you're a certified Mechanic you can't adjust them(but everybody does it anyway) unless it's to get you into a knuckle busting shop. |
