You know, instead of starting another thread, I'd like too add a question. How long do you stay out? and what's the reason?

Well, I only run 2,000 miles a week or so- though I've ranged between 500 and 2750. I get paid by the hour for line 4, and mileage for line 3. My company has zero tolerance for overly creative logbooking.

I am rarely dispatched in a manner that requires any hard rolling, though I have done 700+ mile legal days just to get myself back to get another run in before the weekend or to get back before the weekend (I usually have weekends off and burn my 70 M-F).

3 to 6 days, mostly 3 lately! :D
Reasons?
1) As strange, as it sounds, i do have life, outside of a trucking! :P

2) I only move, when it worth it, since i can afford it(no, i'm not a "hobby trucker), just didn't see a reason to waste my truck, and time! :D

I could think of a couple more... if you want me to! :D

I kinda like to run fairly hard for 2 weeks or so and stay home for 1 full week. Melon season in Florida , Ga I run REAL hard @ $2.60 mile plus for 5-6 weeks and take a good vacation at the end. Costa Rica, Cabo san Lucas or somewhere that's hard to pronounce. It's usually laid back, the gals are hot and the beer is coooooold.

Cozumel Island, back side, grass shack bar on the beach, right where the road makes a 90 degree turn to the left. Nothing but ocean, beach and not a sole around!

Steve,
I know exactly where you are talking about. Great place to hang out at and enjoy the tropical sun and wind. Good rum runners as I recall... :D Been to Cozumel on a number of dive trips.

I'm an O/O. I stay out usually 3 weeks and go home for about 4 days. For no other reason than I like it. I'm enjoying myself out here and loving what I do and most days making a dollar. If they get the 68mph legislation for trucks, I'll go do something else. Until then......
