The plain wrapper patrol officer sat a block up the street from a bar, which is across the street from the local truck stop.
A man comes out of the bar, staggering, stumbles at the curb and nearly falls face first into the street. Trips on the curb across the street and does a nose dive into the grass. Staggers into the truck park and gets into a truck and drives away. As he gets onto the get-on ramp, the officer is there with lights flashing.
So, as he's got the driver doing a field-sobriety test, a string of trucks drive by and hit the road.
The driver passes every test, inclucing breath-a-lizer. The officer shakes his head, and says "I don't get it. I say you staggering, falling down drunk. But you passed all the tests. Not a trace of alcohol in your breath".
As the string of tail lights disappear in the distance, the driver says: "It's not all that hard to understand, officer. Tonights my turn to be the designated decoy". |
