I am already per hired with TMC and SCHNEIDER and have applied to MILLIS TRANSFER i will have to attend any one of thier schools . My questions are for TMC after training period with TMC did you feel completely confident with the tarping and securement skills you learned because i am pretty sure you are not going to tarp and secure every kind of load you might haul. Also does TMC do alot of NEW YORK CITY? Now for MILLIS they seem to offer alot of good incentives to work for them are they real or just away to get people to hire on also how much new york and long island frieght do they haul? SCHNEIDER in order for me to make the necessary money i will have to be a system driver instead of on dedicated account or regional how much new york city and what kind of money can you make with any of these companies and how much home time do you get with any of these companies

My husband drives for TMC and he hasn't had any problems with how to secure the load. TMC also has people out there who will help secure any load that you are not sure of.

NYC isn't forced dispatch with TMC, and they actually pay you an additional $100 to take it. TMC is home almost every weekend if you live in the line haul area. Check the map on their website.

I LIVE in NYC and don't even get to run there much (though I'd LOVE to 5 days a week if I could) so I wouldn't worry about it too much. In the months I've been with TMC I've only had 3 Long Island loads. They do NOT go into Manhattan at all as far as I know.
I did almost every type of load while with my trainer, they try to see to it that you get a WIDE variety of loads when training. Securement was NEVER a problem and if it were, help is a phone call away or as far away as asking another driver on site for help.

Yes Fred, Jeff told me that he met a celebrity yesterday. LOL He said you will never guess who I met at Des Moines...I immediately said Fred because I knew you were headed there but I forgot to tell him.

Millis all the way. I was trained at Millis Training Institute. I learned alot there the instructors are top notch. Also about the company they are a fantastic company with some of the best equipment on the road today. for tmc i would not recommend for first year drivers to start out pulling skateboards, way too many other things to worry about in the beginning than to also worry about load securement but they have the sharpest trucks looking trucks on the road but a nice shiny truck isnt everything

TMC if you want to run flatbed and Millis if you don't. Both are good companies. Forget about the pumpkin. I trained at the Hamilton school with Millis. Good training, good equipment and they have the miles. Even in slow times I got 2500 or more miles. Living where you do you'd be able to get on thier Ohio/IL/Wisc regional and be home most weekends and some during the week if you did not want to go otr

What incentives are you referring to? The mileage bonus? You will get at least the .04cpm every week and most weeks get the full .05cpm. If you want to run 3,000+ miles they are there if you want them
As for NYC.........won't have to go there much at all and if you do get a load there you can refuse it with no reprocusions. They do pay $100 xtra if you take it.

I was talking about the training pay it seems to be the highest around and the incentive of there being a training center in hamilton ohio 1.5 hours from my house

Personally I wouldn't base my future career on what I had to do, where I had to do it or how much I'd make the first few weeks of my job. What's more important is what's offered AFTER all was said and done a month or year down the road.
