| Is that the same Oakley who runs dump trailers and pneumatic tankers? If so, they are as cheap as Schnieder and C.R. England. |

| Oakley pays 1.02 per running mile plus fuel surcharge, total right now is 1.33 per mile loaded and empty, they also pay for base plate, liability and cargo ins, file fuel taxes and you pull their trailer. Thats all I can think of right now, hope this helps. Thanks |

$1.33 is a pretty lousy rate, and I believe you have to have a wet kit on the truck.

If you're up to your neck in bills the LAST thing you need to do is buy a truck that will suck you dry. It's insane. Buying a truck brings on so many more bills than you realise and the payments don't just go away when you decide you've had enough. You probably will not make "the big money" you think you will- money you make will go right into your truck- payment, insurance, diesel, repairs, maintenance...
If you're up to your neck in bills you are WAY smarter to just be a company driver. If you're up to your neck in bills in most people's cases (mine included...) it's a result of poor decisions- I'm not saying you didn't have some things go wrong along the way- but you have to realise that OWNING a truck is an INVITATION for things to go wrong. And poor decisions can be catastrophic when you own a truck.
My advice: don't buy. Spend some time as a company driver (if you MUST drive) and get your finances in order. In the meantime, research companies and research your expenses.
My advice: take it or leave it. |

Better check what you quoted - he said he is NOT up to his neck in bills. |

| At the Dallas Truck Show a vendor asked me if I wanted to pull an end dump, told her I already have one. oooooo, lets' go. She showed me a W-2 statement from her brother or some relation and tried to tell me he grossed $248,000.00 with Oakley!! This statement had been copied so many times the only part readable was the $ amount. So I played along, to get better free stuff, and when I asked how old can my truck be, she said 4, maybe 5 yrs old max, I threw up my hands and said that leaves me out, mine is an '84 model. I know some make good/exceptional money as 0/0, but that amount was a little far fetched to me. |

A W-2? I wasn't aware that Oakley drivers were company drivers. |
