| hi, first timer, so here goes, i was wondereing if anyone knows of any trucking companies that recriut british men, as i am considering relocating with my wife to usa. |

While I do not know of any companies that do this anymore I do know a few people from other countries who have immigrated to the USA and became truck drivers.
Each one of course had to be a legal immigrant, each one had to have the legal right to work in the USA, and they all had to attend truck driving school here in the States regardless of any commercial driving experience they may have had in their home country. |

| thanks uturn2001, the people you mention that had emmigrated were they also british or were they from somewhere else, and also do you know the names of the companies that used to recruit drivers from overseas |

| I'm an expat from Britain (Scotland). Just as Uturn said - had to be here legally, etc. Been driving for almost 2 years and now drive in the southeast region - home every weekend. Biggest problem for me was learning not to sink that clutch in the truck when changing gears (17yrs of manual transmissions will do that I guess). I also had a hanguva sore right arm from learning to change gears on that side. Cheers. |

Hi - I used to work in Edinburgh before I emigrated. Standard Life in Lothian Road. Commuted through every day from Stirling. :?
I'm still pals with a Geordie who's in Livingstone. |

| why cant u just drive a truck in the country your from do you really have to come all the way here for that. is their something wrong with being a european trucker? |
